“I never promised…”

IMG_20160502_201812“I can’t do this anymore!I  am sick and tired and all I want to do is die!” You scream helplessly, tears flowing down your cheeks. You feel alone and The One is nowhere to be seen,He feels so distant. You are at your breaking point…

“Are you still holding onto your integrity? Curse God and die!” Commanded Jobs’ wife.

He left me…she cheated on me… I am all alone in this world… Where is God in all this?…That child reminds me of the rape incident…You do not understand…

I might not understand what you are or might be going through at this moment but there is someone who does. Can you imagine for a moment that Jesus did not promise an easy life, free from trials and tribulations? On the contrary…

“Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest …for my yoke is easy and my burden is light”

He implies moments of difficulty, heaviness and disillusionment, but looking at the scripture closely,He offers a way out.Hey! He has got your back!

Let’s look at another scripture from James 1:2-4,see what James writes:

“Consider it pure joy my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing  of your faith develops perseverance.Perseverance must finish it’s work so that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything”

He emphasizes the fact that your faith shall be tested, you cannot escape this, but at the end of the day a perseverance that makes one mature and complete is developed.Halleluyah!

I pray that we learn to lean and trust on God. It might not be a ‘walk in the park’ but is worthit.I guarantee you!! We are never alone in the dark and dump alleys of life.God is always, and I mean always with us.May we reach a point where, we shall testify of the goodness of God as Charles Spurgeon did when he testified,

“I  am certain that I never did grow in grace one-half so much anywhere as I have upon the bed of pain”

Imagine Christ whispering in your ears,“I never promised the road would be easy, but did promise to never leave nor forsake you”
