“Go into the world and do well, most importantly, go into the world and do  good” This I came across, quoted by Minor Myers.

I dedicate this article to the Unsung heroes.

To the teachers,lecturers,home-schoolers,the knowledge you have, you share with the world and for that you make a difference in the life of someone, including myself and for that…This is for you!!

To the mentors and role-models who positively impact the lives of people, show guidance and help one figure out the way forward…Like a light that shines in the darkness, you light up the life of your mentee and for that…This is for you!

To our parents,guardians,step-parent,grandparents,single parents as well as father and mother figures …for keeping awake through the night for the sake of your new born, lacking in order for your children to get, sleeping hungry for your children to eat, paying fees for them to have a better life than your own…Hats off!!!

To the well-wishers who choose to take the risk and tap into untapped potential, discover the undiscovered and reach out to the less fortunate…This is for you!

To the support staff, the casual labourers, who do what would otherwise have been ignored… Mnatujenga!…For that, this is for you!

To the artists;actors and actresses, musicians, models, writers, poets, motivational speakers and the like who use their work to make the world a better place…It is never in vain and for that…This is for you!

To the Missionaries who choose to put their lives on the line for the sake of the gospel, taking time out to reach out to the unreached… Thank you for following in His footsteps!

To the freedom fighters who saw the bigger picture and chose to arise and take a stand for their countries…see where we are now!!!…This is for you!

To the Air force, the Navy;defense forces…your courage, selflessness, sacrifice goes a long way and for that…SALUTE!!!!

To the husbands and wives who have chosen to build their marriage on the foundation of Christ, trust and love, those who chose and or choose to get married/marry across races, tribes, religion against all odds…This is for you!!

To the religious leaders who shed light in our spiritual lives, who are willing to be used by God,there to pray for us when we do not have the strength, hold our hands and give us a shoulder to lean on when there is none…God bless you!!!

To our beloved athletes at Rio2016 Olympics flying the Kenyan flag so high!…We are very proud of you!!!

The list is endless…I would go on and on and on but I have to stop here for now but before I bring this to a close, I cannot forget to mention the Saviour of the world,King of Kings and Lord of Lords,Creator of Heaven and Earth…

Jesus Christ!!!… No me without Him,you and I would have been so lost without Him and for that…This is for Him!I bow down and worship His Majesty! My reason for living!!!…RESPECT!

So much to say about those who went the extra mile. Are you one of them? Someone once said that the extra mile is never crowded.I encourage you to reach out,if not to everybody,to someone. Put a smile on someone else, give that one who does not have, help someone cross the road…

Mother Teresa once said, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, just feed one”

As you do this, please do it in humility; Do not blow your own trumpet as instructed in…

Matthew 6:1-4:

Be careful not to do youracts of righteousnessbefore men to be seen by them.If you do,you will have no reward from your father in heaven. So when you give to the needy,do not announce it with trumpets,as hypocrites do in synagogues and in the streets, to be honoured by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy,do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you”

Whatever you do,do it for His glory. As Ringtone and Christina Shusho sung, “Tenda wema, nenda zako(do good, go your way)”

I was listening to a certain interview where the interviewee is an influential Jazz Mystro. The interviewer is extremely excited and introduces him as a ‘Legend’
“Who is a legend?” The interviewer asked(Oh my God he is such a kill-joy!) but wait…He did not want to take the glory because he knew where he came from,he never forgot his roots…Guess what he said, “When I go back home I am just a village boy,and anyone who thinks he has arrived, that is when he starts leaving”

I was shocked! The man,a celebrated Jazz mystro across Africa and the world just said that!!!…Humility at its peak and watch him closely,he will go even further!…That is the secret…Humility.Do everything for God’s glory and never forget where you are coming from!

There is someone in the Bible who forgot all that and see what happened to him…

Daniel 4:28-37 (Paraphrased):

King Nebuchadnezzar looks at Babylon and see what he says, “Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the Royal residence,by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?”  Remember, God is a Jealous God and as a result He appears to King Nebuchadnezzar and stripped him off his Royal authority,he went on to tell him that he will live with the wild animals and eat grass like cattle. Until He acknowledged Christ sovereign. What happens next?

King Nebu is driven away from people and starts eating grass like cattle! His physique also changed…His hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his claws like that of a bird! (Scary, right?) After all that he acknowledged Christ as Lord, praising and honouring Him and was therefore restored to his throne.

This story always gives me a wake up call. Never take the glory because it is not yours. It is His glory.

Nelson Henderson echoes this when he says,

The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.

Once again this tribute goes out to those making the world a better place!

God bless.

    1. Thank you Gatesh…remember you don’t have to make a difference in everyone’s life, just start where you are…it makes a whole load of difference!

  1. There is always that urge to want to do more and more but it is so touching and awakening that one does make a difference and while at it,humility should be a part! Woooow!

    1. I totally agree with you Mily,it does make a huge difference…it starts with one person…the ripple effect takes it’s course.I am glad you have been ministered to,all for His glory!
