I came across a very interesting story by Sandhu Sundar Singh quite relevant to this week’s write-up…
“In a Tibetan village I noticed a crowd of people standing under a burning tree and looking up into the branches. I came near and discovered in the branches a bird which was anxiously flying round a nest full of young ones. The mother bird wanted to save her little ones, but she could not. When the fire reached the nest the people waited breathlessly to see what she would do. No one could climb the tree,no one could help her.Now she could easily have saved her own life by flight, but instead of fleeing she sat down on the nest, covering her little ones carefully with her wings. The fire siezed her and burnt her to ashes. She showed her love to the little ones by giving her life for them.If then, this little insignificant creature had such love, how much more must our Heavenly Father love His children, the Creator loves His creatures!”
Been meditating on the relentless, undying, constant love of God lately…The extents of His love for sinful me,His grace for fallen me.Like that mother bird Christ took all the pain on my behalf! This brings to mind a lovely and timeless song by Chris Tomlin, covered by Kiki Kierra that goes, “Indescribable, unobtainable, you place the stars in the sky and you know them by name…all powerful, untameable, awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim… You are amazing God.Incomparable, unchangeable, you see the depths of my heart and you love me the same…You are amazing God”
Despite and Inspite my failures and misgivings, my doubts and fears…He still loves me the same!
“The Highest of highs and depths of sea reveal His Majesty. From the colours of fall to the fragrance of spring, every creature is unique in the song that it sings” I would choose to overlook the beauty contained in creation and assume Science and Rationality instead but everywhere I look,I see perfection,I see the handiwork of a master-designer.All this leads me to introspect.
The Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9 that, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.Who can understand it?” and yet, He still loves us the same. You and I are assured of His love beyond limits. The love that transcends tribe, race, religion, behaviour…His love is Incomparable.
While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us and this is how He demonstrated His love for us(Romans 5:8).I love how The Message Bible puts it from verse 6-8; “Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t and doesn’t wait for us to get ready. He presented Himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for and we could understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put His love on the line for us by offering His Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to Him.”
If I could just stop writing at this point of this write-up I would. The above scripture drew me to worship,we were of no use to Him whatsoever but still he put His love on the line for us by offering His only Son in sacrificial death!…Imagine this for a minute!…His Son died in our stead,He bore the weight of our sins on His shoulders…our shame, rebellion, pain, arrogance, weakness…He nailed them at the cross. (The subject on sacrificial death has sparked debates over the years, but that’s a story for another day)
Would you catch a grenade for your loved one as Bruno Mars sang?…Would you jump in front of a moving Madaraka Express SGR(Standard Gauge Railway)train for your bae or would you say, “At this point,it’s every man for Himself and God for us all?”…If you can say and convince me as well as yourself that you can do it then…you deserve a standing ovation,a moment of silence plus lights switched off across the globe and candles plus phones lit just for you!…Lol!
We cannot afford to take Gods’ love for granted. If it breaks a man’s heart to be taken for granted by a woman and vice versa, how much more God?…He gifted us eternal life. His exceeding love beyond limits gifted us eternity…How priceless!…
John 3:16 … “whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”
Yes He died for the human race, but one thing stands sure, only those who believe in Him are guaranteed eternal/everlasting life.Question is, “Do you believe in Him?”
Let’s look at Romans 10:9-13(NIV), “That if you confess with your mouth,’Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the scripture says, ‘Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame’ for there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blessed all who call on Him,for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved’
From the above scripture two things stand out:
- Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
- Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead.
This is how you and I can be saved.Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart. The mouth and the heart should be in synchrony.
Guess what is in store for those who confess and believe…Romans 8:1&2(NIV), “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin & death”
No condemnation for those in Christ Jesus!…Men will judge by past mistakes but Christ Jesus looks at us through the eyes of love. His love is so constant our past does not change it…His love is too wild it cannot be tamed by our ugly past.Like the adulteress in John 8:1-11,Christ assures us, “…neither do I condemn you,go now and leave your life of sin.” Leave your life of sin was Christ’s instruction to this woman and the same instruction applies to our lives. As long as we are in Christ Jesus, we are not condemned and we should therefore leave our lives of sin.No condemnation does not give us the license to live wreckless lives. Now that would be taking His love and grace for granted(Read Romans 6:1-4).
Revisiting my previous question,Do you believe in Him and the resurrection power?…Do you want to experience His relentless love beyond limits?…Live a life free of condemnation?…Pray this prayer with me,
“Lord Jesus,I come to you today.I lay myself bare before your presence.I confess you as Lord and I believe that you were raised from the dead.Set me free from the guilt of my past and assure me of your salvation.Grant me the grace to walk in your ways and when faced with trials and temptations help me overcome. From today I invite you into my life.Lead and guide me into all truth by your Holy Spirit and help me experience your love.Engrace me to share it with the world. Thank you Jesus for saving me. In Jesus name”Amen.
If you prayed this prayer feel free to contact us and we shall help you through this journey of experiencing God’s love beyond limits.I am so excited and proud of you! And Guess what…you are never alone.
I end with a quote by Tim Keller who crowns it all when He states, “In Ephesians 5,Paul shows us that even on earth,Jesus did not use His power to oppress us but sacrificed everything to bring us into Union with Him and this takes us beyond the philosophical to the personal and practical.”[Be assured of His Love beyond Limits!]
Have an amazing week ahead and remember to Spread the Love!😉
