Admonition · Contemporary

Life is like a leaf, one day blooming the other dry and withered. Here for a season after which it shall no longer be here. The difference is the beauty the leaf contributed while on that tree.

Leave.Love. Laugh.Leave a Legacy.

The word ‘legacy’ sounds cliché.Over and over again we are advised to make a difference…be the change…be the light and the list is endless!…Think about this for a moment…how would the world be if the likes of Jesus Christ,Nelson Mandela,Martin Luther,Bill Gates,Mzee Jomo Kenyatta,Steve Jobs and many more decided not to ‘be that light’…no IPhone,no freedom from apartheid in South Africa,no Microsoft,no independence in Kenya,no freedom in the US,we would have been damned sinners…

Where am I going with all this?As I always write,we have a chance or an opportunity at whatever capacity we find ourselves in to Leave a legacy.A simple smile brightens up ones life.Just that! You don’t have to turn the world upside down for you to make a difference.Right where u are at…start from there. The one life you minister to or touch, will touch another and another…ripple effect. At the end of the day the world becomes a better place.Do not wait for the right time. The right time is now.

Pablo once said, “Never underestimate the difference you can make in the lives of others. Step forward, reach out and help. This week, reach out to someone that might need a lift.”

Let’s look at what scripture says about this. Many a times in pursuit of our goals there is a danger of becoming so consumed to an extent that our pursuit for God is overshadowed!(I have been through this season…so unfulfilling and dry.)

  • Romans 12:3-8;…just as each of us has one body with many members and these members do not all have the same function,so in Christ, we,though many, form one body and each member belongs to all the others.

The above scripture implies we are not here for ourselves alone. Each of us plays a part in making the Body of Christ functional and the world is definitely affected.

  • Matthew 5:16; In the same way,let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

This is an instruction given to us by Christ. As we light our lamp,we do not put it under a table or bed.We should let our light shine before men.

While at it let us not be weary as written in scripture…Galatians 6:9-11, “Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

That is a cool rubber stamp right there!

As long as you and I Trust in God and choose to intentionally be our brother’s keeper then we live a lasting mark behind…each passing day is characterised by selflessness…then the world becomes a better place and 2018 approached in such manner will definitely be an unforgettable year for you and I😉.

Also note that we cannot make a difference in other people’s lives if our lives are filled with clutter or junk.We have to work on ourselves first before we reach out.As long as you do not love yourself for instance, how can you genuinely love others? Its impossible!Ben Sweetland brings this home when he says,

“We cannot hold a torch to light another’s path without brightening our own.”

Hugh Masekhela an amazing Jazz Mystro has left a legacy. His music came from the depth of his soul. His pride for Africa was overwhelming and out of this world.Humble yet a high-flyer.I had and still have total respect for this man because…

“My biggest obsession is to show Africans and the world who the people of Africa really are.”Hugh Masekhela

He lived selflessly.RIP Hugh Masekhela. One of his beautiful pieces is featured below.Enjoy!

That is my desire…for you and I to live selfless lives throughout the year 2018 and beyond.Break free from the Me,Myself and I trinity.

Have an amazing week ahead!😉
