Take a few minutes to observe the above drawings/paintings…What do you notice about the four of them?Does any of them strike you?Which one and why?
I believe each of you can pick one and attempt to explain what they stand for and coincidentally most individuals explain a work of art in light of what they feel or are going through…Well…
Personally I see passion from the above four images.I see someone who could not express him or herself sufficiently using words and therefore decided to express himself through the above.Come to think of it…Each of the above images can be seemlessly explained by the artists themselves and you will be amazed how their thoughts came to be what we see above.
Image 1 and 3 are outsourced, while 2 and 4 were done by my beloved brother,Israel(Trust you read the previous post).
The beauty of art is that it does not have to be systematic,as long as it conveys a message…This is art.Whether you are an artist,an architect,a singer or songwriter,a poet…the beauty lies in the fact that it doesn’t really have to be systematic.Spontaneity…spontaneity…spontaneity.
Look around you…I mean your eyes themselves are a work of art…the colour of our skin…the way we dress…God conveys something to us each and every single day… “I put that gift in you to use it.”
After all we went through as a family, that very dark season birthed so much beauty and potential. When he is happy, sad, frustrated, angry,in love…The message is conveyed using a pen and a paper😊.
1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of Gods’ grace in its various forms.”
No one is exempted here.Whatever gift you have…use it to serve others. This is what proves your faithfulness to the giver. You might not have all that…Doesn’t matter at all.Start from where you are at.
My brother for instance does not possess acrylic paints or posable mannequins or modelling clay and charcoal. All he has is a pen and a paper and lifes’ experiences inspiring his work😊.The rest will fall in place in due time.
Sharpen your skills with whatever you have. When you ‘get there’ they become sharper than before!I like what Ralph Waldo Emerson said one time…
Every artist was first an amateur.
Simple question… “Were you born a grown up?”💁
Talents/gifts do not always lead us to where we desire…Infact the most difficult route to tread is the ‘talent route’ never easy.Dark alleys are too many…road blocks unending…but see what Erica said about this…“Everyone has talent. What’s rare is the courage to follow it to the dark places where it leads.”
Where am I headed with all this?…I am admoniting all of us to utilise our gifts and talents.Sharpen them by Gods’ grace and undoubtedly we will serve before Kings (Proverbs 22:29)
I end with a quote by Ema Bombeck,
When I stand before God at the end of my life,I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me.’
Set your Soul on fire and let the world feel the heat and see that light shining so bright.
Have an amazing week ahead!
Can you imagine February is almost over?…Wow!Time does fly😉
