Alive and Active

“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end— Because I am God…

Why was God talking like this? This is an assurance of His presence through the seasons of life. What does it mean? There will be ‘rocky-hard place seasons’ and ‘rough water seasons.’ These are seasons of hardship and disillusionment. Many a times, deaths occur during these seasons, but God promises His presence. That when we are between a rock and a hard place,it won’t be a dead end.

I just realised that I deal with stress by sleeping.I get to feel super relieved! But…how long can that last? How effective is sleep compared to God’s words of assurance?… At the end of the day,I will still wake up to reality right?!…He says He will never leave nor forsake…He says we should not worry about tomorrow…He says,He loves us so much, as high as the heavens are above the earth… Why do I forget? When things get rough and tough,I forget His promises.I forget that sleep is nothing but temporary but His word stands forever!…Urgggg!!!!It’s frustrating! I think there is a problem…yes…my Spiritual life is experiencing a leakage…

A leakage caused by the cares of the world, undue pressure, unwanted and induced stress,a desire to measure up and belong.A desire to want complete and total independence even from God Himself!

I look at Joshua 1:8 and I get to understand why he wrote what He wrote. In the NIV version it says, “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth;meditate on it day and night…”

I love how the message version puts it,

“Don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of your mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night…”

There is a reason for this. When everything around me seems dead and dying,I breathe and speak life from Hebrews 4:12-13.The Word is Alive And Active. When worry sets in I remember Matthew 6:22-33.He who clothes the Lillies of the field is well able to do way beyond for me and so I shouldn’t worry. When I feel unloved, below par, beyond acceptance,I remember Psalms 103:11.He loves me so much,as high as the heavens are above the earth. When I feel disillusioned and lacking a sense of direction I remember Psalms 119:105.His Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path!

He has called me by name.I am His!You are His!…He claims us.He bought us at a price! I mean,He can tear down walls and break chains to get us back! How reckless!!! (See Isaiah 43:1-4)

His Word has all the answers I need.I neglect the Word,my Spiritual tank begins to leak and worry sets in and clouds my mind and my time!I wouldn’t wish that on anyone! It binds and puts one in a cage of self-pity,depression,anger and depravity!I saw a video on YouTube that was captioned, if you have time to worry then you have time to pray.

I’d rather pray.Worry is not worth it.

I want to experience the effectual, inerrant, infallible and penetrating power of the Word.To experience all this,I have got to experience the Word itself, because one cannot experience what one has not experienced.

My prayer for you and I is to keep the word in our mind every minute. When the enemy attacks,we are armed to the teeth! The Word of God is Alive and Actively working 24/7.We have got to tap into it…We just have to.

I end with a quote I stumbled upon in my study which read,

“We can only overcome the wicked one only by how Christ overcame.”

How did Christ overcome? “It is written…”

This song has really really ministered to me.I hope it ministers to you too!

Have a productive week ahead!
