“There is no sound louder than a captive set free.”

Such a heavy, yet true statement. A captive set free can shout it on the mountains, run down the valleys, skip through alleys, knock on doors, roll on floors, dance and jump in joy and excitement because he or she is no longer captive, but FREE!

Picture a prisoner set free after a long time or pardoned from a death sentence, a drug addict always relapsing but finally breaks free from addiction, a sick individual in and out of hospital finally given a clean bill of health, a woman waiting to conceive and finally conceives after a long wait…The list is endless! Most of those who have gone through this and or witnessed someone go through such situations, never hesitate to start a foundation, begin to actively speak and eventually become motivational speakers, imparting hope and infusing energy to those who are weak.

In Deuteronomy 32:10-12, the Bible says, In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye, like an eagle that stirs up its’ nest and hovers over its’ young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its’ pinions. The Lord alone led him…”

There was once a man with leprosy, who reached out to Jesus and Jesus reached right back at him, willingly, healing him.He gave him very clear instructions, “see that you do not tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.” (A clear sign that indeed Jesus came to fulfill and not to abolish the law). The man instead, went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. He just could not hold it! I mean, he was healed from a dreaded disease, he could now freely interact and go about his business freely and normally! (See Mark 1:40-45).

Classic example of a captive set free! As indicated in Deuteronomy quoted above, Jesus found him in a barren and howling waste, shielded and cared for him and he literally had to go tell it on the mountains over the hills and everywhere!

He is the same God yesterday today and forever! Do you feel trapped? Are you in a season where you feel like you are in a desert wasteland trying to find your way? Are you in a season of darkness, utter darkness suffering in iron chains? Are you in a roller coaster of rebellion and iniquity that you cannot just break free from?

Like the leprous man, he is telling you, “I am willing.” Willing to shield and care for you even in your deepest darkness, willing to protect you like the apple of his eyes, even from your very own self, He is willing to make you go tell it on the mountains over the hills and everywhere! All you have to do is reach out to him, because He is the God who stays, when all else fails, when friends and family desert you, when you feel alone in the midst of a crowd, He is the God who stays and is willing to help you.He is willing to save you.

Dear friends, there is hope and my prayer for you is to get to a point where you won’t be able to hold back the goodness of God in your life to the point where you will be like the Psalmist in Psalms 107:2, “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story…!”

Love you all! Been quite a while since I last wrote, I am excited! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Remember, “There is no sound louder than a captive set free! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!”

Do not be silent.
